After Today...

Captain's Log, July 29th

Hey, long time far from here! But, I guess today is a great day to come back, and write something. The day when, for the first time, I opened my eyes in this world... and today, also one more day when God opened my eyes to see, "again for the first time", how He can ever do more than I can expect!

Why this day is special, I yet don't know... For sure is not because it's my birthday - I already had many of them before. Maybe it's because the things God move around me now. Maybe it's something about listening to a birthday song from across the ocean, and knowing that somebody cares (danke "mummy"!)! Maybe it's about meeting people I didn't see for ages, and feeling that God has something hidden yet, bigger than my mind can wonder now! Maybe it's about feeling to be a part of something that moves, that grows, that's alive! Maybe it's something I'll just discover in the next twenty hours this day still have to me... =)

What I'm already sure, is that I don't need to understand... I just need to be thankful, and opened to receive the love coming from Heaven. Ready to be surprised by joy, prepared to move around and run! Wow! God is great, sometimes quiet, many times funny, all the times lovely... To end this thoughtful moment, a song that makes me think about what I said... I hope it can speak with you the same much it touches myself!

"After today I'll get me out of this place
Into the world so I can set a new pace
Seems I'm on my own from here
Gotta face so many fears
Won't You lay me in Your hands of grace

I've got a funny feeling that I'm gonna go away
Gonna face my future, gonna try to make the grade
I've got a ways to go from here and
Vision doesn't seem so clear but
Praise God He's got a plan and
Understanding isn't my place

After today I'm gonna come face to face
With a new world who knows I'm feeling this way
I've got a ways to go from here
I'm gonna overcome these fears but
Still I'm gonna need Your hands of grace

I'll be a bigger man for, a bigger man for today
I'll pray a bigger prayer for, a bigger prayer for today
I'll dream a bigger dream for, a bigger dream for today
"

(from After Today - Sanctus Real)

So amazing! God is got a plan, and understanding isn't our place. Let's be bigger men, bigger women, and pray bigger prayers, and dream bigger dreams... for today, and tomorrow, and everyday, and always...

Stay in Peace...

before and after... Today!

(my grandpa's 69 VW "Fusca", and a "not so old" driver)

Captain's Log, January 1st

Yeah... One year is ending, and a brand new is beggining now. It's the moment to sit down and think about the things we lived, and the things we'll live now. The time that you ask yourself about your old mistakes, and plan your new actions.
I'm thinking now that this first day of 2007 is like a meeting between my past and my future, the old mixed up with the new - doing some kind of "mess", of course... =)

If I stop to think now, I wonder how many things GREAT things!) God gave me on this year (2006). I met many incredible people, many "strangers" that became closer to my heart so fast. I had many trips, many laughs, many projects, many "strange-great-wonderful-scaring-new" experiences, and a loooot of free time... hehe... In fact, my english is not able to tell you the special year I got. Looking for the other hand, now I have a new year, with a lot of projects, dreams, ideas, and a lot of stuff that makes me feel excited and scared at the same time! Wow!

But my "first lesson" for this year (the one that I want to share with you, and the one that I need to learn better too!), it's to not close your eyes to remember the past, or even to guess the future... We need to open our eyes for TODAY! Taking all we have in hands now, and not lose the oportunities and experiences that God is giving us NOW...

"Don't close your eyes
Don't close your eyes
This is your life, and today is all you've got now
And today is all you'll ever have

Don't close your eyes
Don't close you eyes

This is your life
Are you who you wanna be?
This is your life
Are you who you wanna be?
This is your life
Is it everything you've dreamed it would be
When the world was younger
And you had everything to lose"

Enjoy TODAY as you wouldn't have tomorrow... Play, laugh, be with your friends, learn, read, do your best! Of course, learn with your past, and don't forget your future... But, "don't close your eyes" for all the flowers that are growing on your garden, just for today... =)

Stay in Peace...

Distorção!?

(VPF na ExpoIjuí 2006)

Captain's Log, December 2

(Trad. e Adapt. de More - Seventh Day Slumber)

Fiquem na Paz...
